Sausage Rolls

These homemade sausage rolls are flaky, savoury, and perfect for parties or a family snack. The combination of tasty sausage meat and golden pastry makes them irresistible.

Ingredients
  

  • 300 g pork mince
  • 300 g beef mince
  • 1 onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 tsps Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbs dried herbs
  • 2 tbs breadcrumbs
  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 200°C. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  • In a bowl, combine and mix mince, diced onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, herbs, breadcrumbs, one egg and salt, and pepper.
  • Cut each puff pastry sheet in half. Divide sausage mixture into four portions and shape into logs. Place each log on the edge of a pastry strip and roll to enclose. Seal the edges and cut each log into 3 even sausage rolls.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
  • Bake for 25 minutes or until golden.

Notes

For a crispier pastry, chill the sausage rolls in the fridge for 15 minutes before baking.

• Freezer: Up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven for best results.
