Cheesy Baked Italian Meatballs
These Cheesy Baked Italian Meatballs are full of flavour and topped with gooey cheese, best of all they're made in one dish. They make a great appetizer or main dish served with pasta or in a sub.

- 500 g minced beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 tbs BBQ sauce
- 1 tbs dried oregano or any Italian herbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 700 ml arrabbiata sauce
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). In a bowl, mix minced meat, breadcrumbs, egg, BBQ Sauce, Minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Form into meatballs.
Place shallow casserole dish (or oven proof pan) on cook top and add olive oil and place meatballs in.
Once meatballs have browned lightly on all sides pour arrabbiata into dish
Bake for 25 minutes until cooked through with lid on (Use alfoil on top if you don't have a lid).
Removed from oven and add cheese on top. Place back into oven until cheese is melted, about 5-7 minutes.
Any minced meat works well in this dish. These meatballs can be made ahead and frozen.
