Creamy Pesto Pasta
A quick, delicious & dairy-free creamy Pesto Pasta brings together al dente pasta and our homemade Basil & Rocket Pesto for a satisfying, plant-based meal. Bursting with fresh basil, rocket, and garlic, this dish is perfect for weeknights when you want something quick, easy, and full of flavour or try it chilled for a lunch on the go.
Ingredients
- 400 g penne pasta
- 1/2 cup Basil & Rocket Pesto
- 1/4 cup reserved pasta water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional garnish: fresh basil rocket, cherry tomatoes, or nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavour
Instructions
- In a large pot, cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup pasta water, then drain.
- Return the pasta to the pot on low heat, add the Vegan Basil & Rocket Pesto, and gradually stir in the reserved pasta water until a smooth, creamy sauce forms.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste and toss until the pasta is well-coated.
- Serve immediately, garnishing with fresh basil, rocket, cherry tomatoes, or a sprinkle of nutritional yeast if desired.
Notes
Use gluten-free pasta to make this dish gluten-free.
Add grilled vegetables, like zucchini or cherry tomatoes, for extra flavour and nutrition.
Delicious hot or cold
Pairs Well With:

• Fridge: Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently over low heat, adding a splash of water or extra pesto if needed.
• Freezer: Not recommended, as the pasta may become too soft upon thawing. Gluten-Free Option:
